Hello, I’m Daniel and I’m the Strategic Lead for Hello Future. I’ve had the delight of working with the Hello Future Team and Partnership since 2019. It has been brilliant seeing through our evaluation the impact of our Hello Future collaborative work, enriching Higher Education journeys for disadvantaged leaners (Hello Future Target Ward Learners) across the county. I am also an active researcher, currently exploring the social mobility barriers facing young disadvantaged males on progressing into Higher Education.
Hello, I’m Lisa and I’m the Programme Manager for Hello Future. I’ve been with Hello Future from the beginning, since February 2017 so I have seen the programme change and develop! It’s great to see the fantastic reputation we have built up in schools, colleges and amongst partners as well as the great results that are coming through from our evaluation and research. Building a programme from scratch has not been easy but knowing that our young people are benefitting from it makes it all worthwhile! There are likely to be more changes to come but we are ready to take on any new challenges and use our knowledge and experience to provide the best possible HE opportunities for young people in Cumbria.
Hi! I’m Anna and have worked with Hello Future for almost three years. I lead on impact evaluation and manage our outreach officer team. I am passionate about equality of opportunity for young people in Cumbria and enjoy the opportunities that my role provides to create new and innovative projects and interventions to support learners and in developing new and robust evaluation methodologies. I was especially proud when our team won the Golden Apple Award for innovation in 2022 for the ‘My Future Selves’ approach, immersing evaluation and in the moment data insights into delivery.
Hi, I am Jack and I am one of three Outreach Officers. I cover the Furness Peninsula. Like the other outreach officers, I work on a variety of projects but particularly keen to chat further about FE to HE Transition projects. One project from this academic year I have really enjoyed working on is the Breaking the Mould Project, working with 30 Year 8 boys from across the country to challenge gender stereotypes in education and careers by engaging with a plethora of our partners. I am so proud of seeing learners we’ve worked with over the years having transitioned to Higher Education and now pursuing their dream careers. I have also loved supporting our Graduate Interns who have worked on the programme over the years to develop and make huge steps in their careers.
Hello, I’m Laura – the Outreach Officer covering West Cumbria. My favourite part of the job is developing projects with sustained periods of activity for students and working with partners to see these ideas come to fruition. As someone who has lived in West Cumbria for the majority of my life, as well as being a first generation university student, I am keen to help students perceptions of their capability for higher education in an area that is dominated by one industry in terms of careers aspirations.
Hi, I am Gareth and I am the Outreach Officers that covers the Carlisle and Eden area. I enjoy working with local young people to explore all their options, expand their horizons and ensure that they are able to maximise their potential.
Hello, I’m JJ! I work across the team to support with a range of aspects including: delivery, administration, data evaluation and social media. My favourite part of my job is the diversity of tasks I get to help with, no day looks the same. As such I can answer a range of enquiries, especially questions surrounding bookings, social media and delivery. I am also passionate about accessibility, so I am keen to chat about accessibility concerns.
I’m Emily and I am the Graduate Intern for West Cumbria. I primarily create, edit and deliver workshops across West Cumbria, as well as Carlisle and Furness to help meet demand when needed. I also create social media content and undertake admin duties. A rewarding part of this role is hearing how useful and enjoyable learners have found our sessions to be. I can assist with queries relating to delivery, or with advertising a particular event you want our learners to be aware of. A particular interest of mine is educating learners on the benefits of pursuing a humanities pathway.
My name is Jack, and I’m the graduate intern for the Furness area. As a graduate intern, my roles range from workshop delivery to admin and social media. The thing I enjoy most about my job is getting to help young students make those tough decisions, helping them to choose their next steps in life; it’s extremely rewarding. As a humanities specialist, I am keen to talk about progression routes within the humanities sectors and the wider skills associated with them.
